What this event is all about
Some of the best ideas in our OLA community never leave a WhatsApp group or a coffee-table conversation. OLA Business Connect exists to change that.
This is a members-only gathering where two kinds of people in our alumni community come together in one room: those building something — a startup, a side business, an idea that’s halfway to becoming real — and those who’ve already built, and are now ready to back, mentor, or collaborate with the next one.
No panels. No keynote speeches. Just short, sharp pitches, real conversations, and the kind of introductions that are hard to manufacture anywhere else. If you’ve got an idea worth backing, or capital and experience worth offering, this room is built for exactly that exchange.
Pitching your idea? Here's how it works
Got a business — early-stage, halfway there, or somewhere in between? You get the floor.
- Format: A 10-minute elevator pitch. That's it — enough time to make your case, not enough to lose the room.
- Bring your pitch on a pen drive — this is mandatory. To keep the day moving and every presenter getting their full 10 minutes, we will not be troubleshooting file formats, laptops, or screen adjustments on the spot. Presentations must be loaded onto a pen drive and handed over ahead of your slot. Pitches without a pen drive will not be accommodated on the day.
- Keep it focused. Think of this as your one shot to make someone lean forward — what the idea is, why it matters, what you need next.
This is your room to be heard by people who’ve actually been where you’re standing.
Attending the event? Here's what you can do
Not pitching, but curious about what’s brewing in the OLA community? Come anyway.
As an attendee, you’ll get to:
- Watch every pitch and see what fellow alumni are building right now
- Approach founders directly after their pitch if something catches your interest
- Explore investment conversations, if you're looking to put capital into a promising idea
- Explore collaborations — partnerships, mentorships, or simply lending your expertise to someone building something you believe in
There’s no pressure to commit to anything on the day. Come, listen, and see what conversations naturally follow.
The process
Here’s exactly how to take part, step by step:
- 1. Submit your idea. If you're pitching, fill out this Google Form with your business details.
- 2. Get listed. Once submitted, your idea will appear on the event website ahead of the event — not as a full writeup, just a short logline, enough for others to know what you're building and decide if they want to hear more.
- 3. Present on the day. Show up with your pitch loaded on a pen drive, and you're ready to go.
Submission deadline: one week from the date of this announcement. Entries received after the deadline will not be included in the pitch lineup or the pre-event listing, so submit early.
Membership is mandatory
This event is strictly for OLA members — whether you’re pitching an idea or simply attending to explore and connect. Membership is a mandatory prerequisite for participation, with no exceptions.
If you’re already a member, you’re all set. If you’re not yet a member, that’s the first step before anything else — you will not be able to submit a pitch or register to attend without an active OLA membership.

Both the pitch submission form and the event registration will require your membership details to process, so please complete your membership first.
Event participation fee
There is a participation fee for the event, applicable to both presenters and attendees.
- Participation fee Rs 499 / - for both the ideas submitted and the attendee
- Pay online in advance while registering, or
- Pay on the spot at the venue on the day of the event
Open to all Olas, everywhere
This event is open to all OLA members, regardless of where you’re based. Whether you’re in Delhi or joining us from outside the city, if you hold active OLA membership, you’re welcome to pitch, attend, and be part of the room.
